What You’ll Do
As an Engineer in Training I at Confidential Client, you will support entry-level professional engineering assignments in the Transportation/Traffic division. You will compile data, run basic design calculations, prepare and revise engineering plans, and assist project teams to reach technical and schedule milestones.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist with design and planning of engineering projects under the supervision of a Project Manager
- Prepare reports, perform modeling and calculations, and produce drawing revisions
- Review shop drawings and respond to requests for information (RFIs)
- Gather information from government agencies and interact with clients as directed
- Assist with cost estimates, study plans, and draft technical specifications
- Submit requests to appropriate agencies as directed
- Collaborate with CAD Technicians, Designers, other E.I.’s, and interns to meet project goals
- Participate in in-house training and professional development
Transportation / Traffic-specific Work
- Preliminary design reports
- Traffic studies and traffic modeling/simulations
- Traffic signal design
- Arterial and freeway design, including roadside safety considerations
- Utility coordination and addressing redlines/comments to plans
Qualifications
- Bachelor of Science degree in an appropriate engineering discipline (required)
- Successful completion of the Fundamentals of Engineering (FE) exam (EIT certification)
- Working knowledge of Civil 3D and Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Project)
- MicroStation experience is preferred
- Ability to apply engineering principles to evaluate and solve basic engineering problems
- Strong communication skills and ability to work within a multi‑discipline project team

Preferred / Nice-to-Have
- Experience or coursework in traffic modeling/simulation tools
- Prior exposure to traffic signal design or roadway safety design
- Experience with utility coordination on public works projects
Compensation & Logistics
- Estimated salary: $55,876 per year (estimated)
- Employment type: Full‑time
- Location: Las Vegas, NV (on‑site / local) — applicants should be authorized to work in the U.S.
