What You’ll Do
Confidential Client is seeking an Engineer II to join the Ground Systems Engineering team in Englewood, CO. This individual contributor role supports the Ground Segment IPT and contributes to requirements, design, integration, and test of ground systems that support space missions and operations.
- Develop ground system requirements to support mission CONOPS and operations; write test-driven requirements.
- Use a Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) approach to design, develop, integrate, and test ground systems.
- Ensure integrated ground solutions using internal components, COTS, and FOSS when appropriate.
- Produce and maintain ICDs, test plans and procedures, operations documentation, and program artifacts.
- Participate in design reviews, requirements alignment, verification, and system-level test support.
- Troubleshoot and analyze system issues using engineering principles; provide technical resolutions.
- Develop training materials and deliver technical presentations to support operational readiness.
- Collaborate across engineering disciplines and support other teams as required.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications
- Typically requires a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in engineering or a related technical discipline from an accredited institution, plus 0–2 years of engineering experience (may substitute equivalent experience for education).
- Strong written and verbal communication, documentation, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to learn quickly, apply concepts in a changing environment, and manage work to meet schedules.
- Customer-focused, able to work independently and in teams; willing to work extended hours and travel as required (0%–25%).
- Ability to obtain and maintain a DoD Top Secret (TS) / SCI clearance is required.
- U.S. Citizenship is required for this position.
Desired Qualifications
- Experience using SysML and MagicDraw for system modeling and MBSE workflows.
- Prior systems engineering experience supporting satellite command-and-control or mission planning systems.
- Engineer-in-Training (EIT) certification or equivalent.
Compensation & Location
- Location: Englewood, CO (onsite).
- Employment type: Full-Time.
- Salary range (Colorado): $68,770 — $116,193 per year. This range is provided in compliance with applicable pay transparency requirements. Actual pay is based on experience, skills, and authorization level.
- Clearance: Top Secret (SCI access eligible) preferred/desired; ability to obtain DoD TS/SCI required.
