What You’ll Do

Confidential Client is seeking an entry-level Shell & Plate engineer to join their engineering team. In this role you will perform design and analysis work for liquid storage structures, specialty vessels, and foundations, supporting field and fabrication offices as needed.

• Perform structural design and calculations for aboveground storage tanks, spheres, vacuum chambers, clarifiers, LNG and other low-temperature storage (Propane/Butane, Ammonia, liquid hydrogen), and related concrete/steel appurtenances.
• Conduct analysis for structural, vibration, seismic and thermal loading; apply sound engineering principles and accepted codes/standards.
• Prepare portions of project documents, create design sketches, and edit specifications under supervision.
• Support fabricators and field staff by communicating engineering deliverables and responding to site issues.
• Document technical issues and assist in resolution of site or fabrication problems.
• Participate in special projects and continuous-improvement initiatives as assigned.
• Represent Confidential Client’s commitment to safety and professional ethics at job sites and in the office.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Civil (Structural) or Mechanical Engineering required.
• Entry-level position — no prior full-time experience required; internship experience preferred.
• Basic knowledge of strength of materials, mechanics and structural analysis required.
• Finite Element Analysis (FEA) experience preferred.
• Familiarity with Mathcad, AutoCAD, STAAD, and ANSYS is a plus.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills; able to interact professionally at all organizational levels.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word). Outlook and Teams preferred.
• Ability to follow directions, organize work, and maintain a proactive, positive attitude.
• Travel: role may require extended field assignments at construction sites across North America.
• Overtime: may be required when assigned to project locations.
• Physical: light physical effort — sit/stand, reach, bend, climb ladders/stairs occasionally.
• Authorization: applicants must be currently authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis.
