What You’ll Do

This entry-level Engineer I (Process Engineer) role supports precision polishing and specialized metal coating operations in a lab and production environment for a confidential client. You will work under general supervision to execute lab runs, collect and document process data, and support small engineering projects and process-improvement activities.

• Execute and document lab and production runs according to written procedures.
• Record process parameters, results, and observations in organized logs.
• Use Excel for data entry, basic analysis, and identifying trends.
• Perform functional testing of equipment and systems using standard engineering principles.
• Assist engineering staff with analysis, investigation, and resolution of routine engineering issues.
• Prepare clear documentation of findings and implemented solutions; present results to project staff as needed.
• Follow safety, quality, and environmental procedures; help maintain compliance with applicable regulations.
• May provide direction to technicians or design staff on specific tasks.
• Maintain strict confidentiality of sensitive information.

What We’re Looking For

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering or a related technical discipline, or equivalent engineering experience.
• Basic understanding of engineering concepts, principles, and theory.
• Strong attention to detail and accurate record keeping.
• Proficiency with Excel and basic data analysis.
• Good written and verbal communication skills; able to document work and present to internal teams.
• Ability to learn new processes quickly and apply standard engineering techniques.
• Able to work both independently and collaboratively; flexible to work extended hours as required.
• An EIT (Engineer in Training) certificate is desirable.
• Able to obtain and maintain a DOE Q clearance.

Preferred / Nice-to-Have

• Degree in Chemical, Materials, or Nano Engineering.
• Prior lab or precision finishing/coating experience.
• Familiarity with process control documentation and basic statistical tools.

Compensation

Salary estimate shown on the original posting: $77,243 per year (estimated). The confidential client will provide final compensation details during the hiring process. Careertakes and the client comply with applicable pay-transparency and state-specific disclosure rules.
