What You’ll Do
Confidential Client is hiring an entry-level Engineer to join their engineering team supporting power and electrical systems design. Under the supervision of an Engineering Team Lead or Manager, you will help deliver projects that meet engineering standards and client specifications.
- May collaborate with or oversee Designers assigned to your work or team.
- Review, comment on, and process equipment and system submittals.
- Coordinate electrical work with architectural, structural, mechanical, and plumbing disciplines.
- Prepare, check, and specify power, lighting, and auxiliary electrical systems.
- Develop power single-line diagrams.
- Support short-circuit modeling and overcurrent protection coordination studies.
- Coordinate designs with project specifications and equipment buy-outs.
- Visit job sites to survey existing electrical conditions under supervision.
- Learn and use engineering analysis tools to analyze loads, lighting levels, and short-circuit currents under senior engineer guidance.
- Participate in project team meetings and interface with architects, mechanical contractors, and other stakeholders.
- Assist senior engineers with field observations, construction design updates, and drawing interpretation.
What You’ll Bring
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering, architectural engineering, construction sciences, or equivalent combination of education, training, and relevant experience.
- Demonstrated interest or coursework in electrical/power systems, lighting, or related disciplines.
- Willingness to learn engineering analysis programs such as SKM, E-Tap, or similar.
- Ability to become competent in Autodesk/AutoCAD or similar drafting tools, Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel), and lighting/illuminance software.
- Effective oral and written communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively on multi-disciplinary teams.
- Self-motivated, proactive attitude and ability to manage multiple tasks under supervision.

Travel & Working Conditions
- Travel: Up to 10% (does not include local field visits).
- Primarily indoor office work with occasional job-site visits; may include standing, walking, typing, lifting up to ~40 lbs, and exposure to typical construction site conditions during supervised visits.

- Estimated pay: $73,567 per year (estimated).
