Your Next Opportunity

Confidential Client is hiring an entry-level Engineer I to join their engineering team in Hillsboro, OR. This role reports to an Engineering Team Lead or Manager and provides hands-on exposure to electrical engineering design, coordination, and project work across power and lighting systems. This is an excellent role for recent graduates or early-career engineers who want structured mentorship and growth in engineering design for construction projects.

What You’ll Do

• May oversee or collaborate with designers assigned to your work or team
• Review, comment on, and process equipment and system submittals
• Coordinate electrical work with architectural, structural, mechanical, and plumbing disciplines
• Prepare designs and specify power, lighting, and auxiliary systems
• Develop single-line power diagrams and model short-circuit and over-current protection coordination studies
• Coordinate work with project specifications and equipment buy-out documents
• Conduct supervised site visits to field-survey existing electrical conditions
• Learn and use engineering analysis tools to analyze loads, lighting levels, and short-circuit currents under senior supervision
• Participate in project team meetings and interface with architects and mechanical contractors/engineers
• Assist senior engineers with drawing interpretation, field observations, and design updates during construction
• Perform other related duties as assigned by the business unit

What You’ll Bring

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering, architectural engineering, construction sciences, or equivalent experience (education and relevant experience may be combined)

What You’ll Need to Be Successful

• Willingness and ability to learn engineering analysis tools for short-circuit, coordination, and arc-flash mitigation (examples: SKM, E-Tap)
• Familiarity or ability to learn applicable codes and energy-efficiency requirements
• Ability to learn and become competent in Autodesk (AutoCAD / Revit), Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel), and illuminance software
• Good oral and written communication skills
• Self-motivated, proactive, and an effective team player
• Professional interpersonal skills and the ability to interact effectively across teams

Working Conditions

• General office environment with periods of sitting, standing, walking, typing, lifting, bending
• Work conducted primarily indoors with typical office environmental conditions (lighting, HVAC)
• Noise level usually low to medium
• Occasional lifting up to 40 lbs

Compensation

• $71,600 — $94,000 per year (pay transparency range provided)
