Position Overview
Confidential Client is hiring an Engineer I (entry-level) to join their engineering team in Anaheim, CA. This role supports electrical engineering design and coordination for projects including photovoltaic (PV), distributed generation (DG), battery energy storage systems (BESS), and medium-voltage systems. The Engineer I will work under the supervision of senior engineers and engineering leadership to develop technical deliverables, perform analyses, and participate in field and design coordination activities.
What You’ll Do
- Oversee or collaborate with designers assigned to your work or team.
- Review, comment on, and process equipment and system submittals.
- Coordinate design and work activities between civil, architectural, structural, mechanical, operations, field teams, and all electrical trades.
- Prepare designs and specify power, lighting, and auxiliary systems for PV, DG, BESS, or MV systems.
- Develop power single-line diagrams and model short-circuit and overcurrent protection coordination.
- Assist with feeder schedules, cable loss calculations, and energy production modeling under senior supervision.
- Coordinate design work with project specifications and equipment manufacturers.
- Visit job sites to field-survey existing electrical conditions (under supervision).
- Learn and use engineering analysis tools to analyze loads, lighting, and short-circuit currents.
- Participate in project team meetings; interface with architects, subcontractors, and other engineers.
- Assist senior engineers with field observations, design interpretations, and construction design updates.
- Support drawing interpretation and help identify and resolve conflicts, interferences, and errors.
What You’ll Need to Be Successful
- Bachelor's degree in engineering, architectural engineering, construction sciences, or equivalent experience.
- Working toward Engineer-in-Training (EIT) certification from NCEES is preferred.
- Ability and willingness to learn engineering analytic programs for short-circuit, coordination, and arc-flash analysis (e.g., SKM, E-Tap).
- Familiarity (or willingness to learn) AutoCAD MEP, AutoCAD Map3D, Autodesk Civil3D, PVsyst, PVcase, Google Earth, Microsoft Office, and illuminance software.
- Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple tasks under supervision.

Travel & Working Conditions
- Travel: Up to 10% (does not include local field visits).
- Typical work is primarily indoor office environment with occasional site visits; may involve sitting, standing, walking, typing, carrying, pushing, bending.
- Noise level typically low to medium; can be loud on the jobsite.
- Occasional lifting up to 30 lbs.

Compensation & Benefits
- Pay range: $75,000 — $98,400 per year.
