What You’ll Do

This entry-level Engineer I role supports distribution design projects for utility and non-utility customers. Day-to-day responsibilities include:

  • Work on engineering design and permitting for distribution projects.
  • Assist with project management, negotiations, performance tracking, and reporting.
  • Serve as a point of contact for low- to mid-complexity projects.
  • Perform data analysis and basic engineering tasks to complete assignments.
  • Execute basic engineering calculations required for designs.
  • Collect and evaluate data to recommend courses of action.
  • Support senior engineers on larger, complex projects.
  • Contribute to policies, training, and internal support material.
  • Prepare communications and presentations; run or participate in meetings.
  • Support research, development, and process-improvement initiatives.
  • Participate in regular team meetings and perform other job-related duties as assigned.

What We’re Looking For (Required)

  • Bachelor of Science in Engineering from an ABET-accredited program.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and common desktop applications.
  • Ability to work independently and in team settings.
  • Customer-facing skills for responding to routine inquiries.
  • Demonstrated time management and multi-tasking abilities.
  • Reliable, self-motivated, and trustworthy with discretion handling business information.
  • Willingness to travel up to 5% (overnight travel may be required).

Preferred (Not Required)

  • Basic understanding of electrical and power engineering theory.
  • Programming experience (Python, C++, MATLAB, Automation in Access/Excel).
  • Experience with circuit analysis and distribution modeling tools (CYME, Synergi, Milsoft, PSCAD, etc.).

Location & Work Model

  • Hybrid role based in Charlotte, NC (primary work location). Remote or hybrid scheduling will be coordinated by the Confidential Client according to team needs.
  • Travel: up to ~5% as noted above.

Compensation (Estimated)

  • Estimated base pay: $79,033 per year (estimated). Final pay and benefits will be communicated by the Confidential Client and may vary based on experience and local regulations.
