Role Overview

Confidential Client is seeking an entry-level Construction & Commissioning Mechanical Engineer (Engineer I) to support mechanical installation, commissioning, and field execution on power generation projects. This role works across Simple Cycle (SC), Combined Cycle (CCGT), and Combined Heat & Power (CCHP) projects, supporting site teams, Technical Field Advisors (TFAs), Engineering, Quality, and suppliers to resolve technical issues and capture lessons learned for future procedures.


What You’ll Do

  • Demonstrate growing independence using standard engineering methods with moderate supervision
  • Support resolution of field technical issues (PARs, RFIs/TQs) by collecting data, coordinating stakeholders, and assisting technical evaluations
  • Review field conditions and provide basic engineering input to support safe and compliant execution
  • Assist root cause analysis (RCA) efforts and help implement corrective solutions aligned with design and procedures
  • Help develop, review, and update mechanical erection and commissioning procedures; interpret P&IDs, drawings, and specifications
  • Review mechanical designs including P&IDs, general arrangements, isometrics, and foundation drawings
  • Build familiarity with gas and steam turbine construction (skids, modules, piping, valves, structures) and auxiliary systems (lubrication, fuel gas, air cooling)
  • Coordinate with cross-functional teams and participate in project meetings, providing technical input under guidance
  • Prepare technical reports, documentation, and presentations with supervision
  • Support supplier documentation review, procedure clarification for site teams, and continuous improvement initiatives (e.g., CAPA, procedure updates)
  • Follow safety standards, company procedures, and contractual requirements at all times

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, or a technical diploma; 0–3 years’ experience in power generation, construction, or industrial operation (or equivalent combination of education/training/experience)
  • Ability to read and interpret technical procedures, drawings, and standards; English proficiency required
  • Familiarity with scheduling tools (Primavera P6), ISO procedures, and OSHA requirements is an asset
  • Additional languages (Spanish, Portuguese, Japanese) are a plus
  • Strong communication, collaboration, and basic problem-solving skills; willingness to travel to project sites as required

Location & Employment Type

This is a full-time, on-site role based in Lake Mary, FL (Lake Mary, Florida 32795). Travel to project sites may be required.
