What You’ll Do

  • Possess and apply entry-level engineering knowledge to analyze and solve well-defined technical problems with guidance from senior engineers.
  • Assist higher-level engineers on portions of larger, more complex analyses and projects while gaining familiarity with relevant standards, codes, equipment, materials, and business processes.
  • Coordinate routine engineering tasks and provide input to small team activities; perform work under direction while developing leadership skills.
  • Support project planning and scheduling activities (CPM, PERT, flow charts), monitor project status, and prepare cost estimates using established standards.
  • Apply basic analysis techniques to identify and resolve routine technical issues; propose process improvements and new approaches.
  • Contribute to report and technical paper preparation; communicate clearly in writing and verbally and request clarification when needed.
  • Build productive working relationships across teams; participate constructively in team decision-making and follow established policies and procedures.
  • Demonstrate business awareness by considering economic impacts, environmental stewardship, and customer needs in engineering work.

Qualifications

Associate (Entry Level)

  • Recent bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering or electrical engineering technology from an ABET‑accredited program is preferred.
  • Passing the Fundamentals of Engineering (FE) exam is preferred and encouraged to support future PE licensure.
  • Candidates with comparable electrical engineering or technology bachelor’s degrees will be considered; ABET exceptions may be approved at the executive level on a case-by-case basis.

Engineer (Early Career)

  • Typically requires 2+ years of related engineering or engineering-technology experience.
  • Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering or electrical engineering technology preferred; other engineering degrees may be considered.
  • ABET accreditation is preferred; acceptable alternatives include a non-ABET bachelor’s paired with a relevant master’s/PhD from institutions that offer ABET-accredited undergraduate programs.

Senior Engineer

  • Typically requires 4+ years of relevant experience applying engineering technology principles in project, operational, or technical settings.
  • Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering technology (ABET preferred) or equivalent combinations of education and advanced degrees may apply.

Principal Engineer

  • Typically requires 8+ years of related experience.
  • Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering or electrical engineering technology preferred.
  • Professional Engineer (PE) licensure is strongly encouraged but not required; PE exceptions may be approved by executive leadership.

Compensation & Work Conditions

  • Compensation Grade: SP20-006
  • Compensation Range: $74,551.00 - $151,132.50 per year
  • Employment type: Full-time
  • Physical Demand Level: S – Sedentary Work (occasional exertion up to 10 pounds; primarily seated work with occasional walking or standing)
