Role overview

Confidential Client is hiring Electrical Design / I&C Engineers at entry, mid, and senior levels to support engineering work for nuclear power plant systems. You will perform engineering and technical tasks to ensure safe, code-compliant design, help resolve obsolescence issues, and support multi-discipline project work that keeps plant systems reliable and compliant.


What You’ll Do

  • Assure engineering deliverables meet safety analyses, industry codes, and regulatory requirements.
  • Perform engineering and technical assignments supporting nuclear plant operations under supervision.
  • Design, evaluate, and specify electrical and I&C components (breakers, cables, transmitters, motors, transformers, switches, relays, PLCs, control systems).
  • Develop engineering calculations and evaluations to establish or confirm component design bases.
  • Address obsolescence: evaluate replacements (including digital components), select suitable alternatives, and update designs.
  • Lead or participate on multi-discipline project teams and coordinate with stakeholders and suppliers.
  • Review or develop proposals and cost estimates for engineering design work from service providers.
  • Support departmental responsibilities such as emergency response, outage support, and departmental coverage as required.

Minimum qualifications

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS — Entry Level (E01)

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Chemical, Civil/Structural, Electrical, Industrial, Mechanical or Nuclear).
  • Ability to meet access and medical/unescorted access requirements as applicable.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS — Mid Level (E02)

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Chemical, Civil/Structural, Electrical, Industrial, Mechanical or Nuclear).
  • ~2 years of nuclear or related engineering experience.
  • Ability to meet access and medical/unescorted access requirements as applicable.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS — Senior Level (E03)

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Chemical, Civil/Structural, Electrical, Industrial, Mechanical or Nuclear).
  • ~5 years of nuclear or related engineering experience.
  • Ability to meet access and medical/unescorted access requirements as applicable.

Preferred qualifications

  • Engineer-in-Training (EIT) certification or equivalent.
  • Hands-on experience with electrical and I&C component design and complex control systems (including PLCs).
  • Experience resolving obsolescence and selecting replacement/digital components.
  • Proven ability to develop engineering calculations and evaluations.
  • Experience leading multi-discipline project teams and interfacing with stakeholders.
  • Experience preparing or reviewing proposals and engineering cost estimates.

Compensation & location

  • Expected salary ranges by level:
    • Entry-Level: $87,000
    • Mid-Level: $92,700 – $114,000
    • Senior: $122,400 – $154,000
  • Location: Hampden Station, PA (on-site plant responsibilities)
  • Employment type: Full-time
  • Note: The posted ranges are estimated and based on the hiring level. Final pay will depend on experience, qualifications, and company pay practices.
