Position summary

This is an entry-level engineering role for a Confidential Client in the Energy, Oil & Gas industry. The role requires performing beginning-to-intermediate level engineering assignments, supporting projects that require analytical problem solving, coordination with peers, and participation in budgeting and planning activities.


What You’ll Do

  • Apply engineering theory and analytical techniques to solve diverse problems and complete assigned analyses.
  • Break complex problems into component steps and perform the analysis necessary for each step.
  • Understand interrelationships between systems and component equipment and recommend enhancements to business processes.
  • Coordinate routine work activities within the team or department to accomplish project objectives.
  • Prepare technical reports, studies, improvement requisitions, and budget/forecast inputs.
  • Use scheduling techniques (CPM, PERT, flow charts) for planning and tracking work.
  • Provide training and guidance to less-experienced staff as needed.
  • Identify routine problems, initiate corrective actions, and escalate complex issues appropriately.
  • Build relationships with stakeholders and peers across the organization to get work completed and drive consensus.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering from an ABET-accredited program (required for Engineer Associate level).
  • Master’s degree in engineering from an ABET-accredited program may qualify candidates for placement at the Engineer level.
  • Strong analytical skills and familiarity with standard project scheduling techniques (CPM, PERT).
  • Effective written and verbal communication; able to develop and present technical reports.
  • Demonstrated teamwork, interpersonal skills, and the ability to work with cross-functional stakeholders.
  • Familiarity with basic economic analysis techniques, and a desire to learn utility regulation and financing concepts.
  • Makes decisions consistent with established policies and demonstrates sound risk awareness.

Education & Experience

  • Entry-level: Bachelor’s degree in engineering (ABET-accredited) required.
  • Higher-level engineer roles may require additional education, certifications, or experience (these roles are posted at multiple grade levels).
  • Exceptional candidates from non-ABET programs may be considered if approved at the appropriate leadership level.

Compensation & Benefits

  • Compensation range (provided by the client): $74,551 — $128,688 per year.
  • Entry-level pay reference listed by the client: $84,000 per year.

Physical Demands

  • Sedentary work classification: exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally and/or a negligible amount of force frequently. Involves sitting most of the time with occasional walking or standing.
