Position overview
Confidential Client (via Careertakes) is seeking an entry-level Engineer to join their engineering team in Kesslers Mill, VA. This role supports engineering projects and day-to-day technical work under the guidance of higher-level engineers. The position is full-time and offers a competitive compensation range.
What you’ll do
- Assist higher-level engineers with planning, analysis, and execution of engineering assignments.
- Apply engineering fundamentals to well-defined problems and analyses.
- Support preparation of project schedules, cost estimates, and routine project documentation.
- Learn and apply relevant industry standards, codes, regulations, equipment, and business processes.
- Prepare technical reports and participate in presentations or team meetings.
- Coordinate with peers and other teams to resolve routine engineering tasks and ensure work follows established procedures.
- Use initiative to identify improvements and propose new ideas or approaches.
- Follow safe work practices and support environmental and reliability objectives.
Qualifications
Minimum requirements (required unless otherwise noted):
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering from an ABET-accredited program (new graduates encouraged to apply).
- Passing or intent to take the Fundamentals of Engineering (FE) exam is encouraged and preferred.
- Candidates with a Bachelor’s in Engineering Technology may be considered if they obtain a certified Professional Engineering (PE) license.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Demonstrated problem-solving skills, willingness to learn, and ability to work on a team.
- Basic familiarity with scheduling techniques (CPM, PERT, flow charts) is a plus.
- Ability to follow procedures and seek guidance when needed.
Preferred:
- Demonstrated involvement in professional or technical organizations.
- Internship or co-op experience in a related engineering discipline.
Compensation & physical demands
- Compensation grade: SP20-006
- Compensation range: $74,551.00 - $151,132.50 (annual)
- Physical demand level: S – Sedentary work (occasional lifting up to 10 lbs; mostly sitting with brief periods of standing/walking).
