Role Summary
Confidential Client is seeking an entry-level Engineer (Engineer 1) to support new product development within the Emergency Medicine product families. The role contributes to mechanical design, prototyping, testing, and documentation across the product development lifecycle for medical devices.
What You’ll Do
- Support research and project initiatives working with clinicians, researchers, and vendors (may include U.S. travel).
- Gather and synthesize technical and clinical data to inform unmet-need development.
- Prepare protocols and coordinate exploratory work, research, and prototyping for devices and components.
- Assist with the creation and maintenance of Design History Files and engineering documentation.
- Apply mechanical design skills to create or modify medical device designs, test fixtures, and manufacturing equipment.
- Support multiple projects concurrently to meet timelines and deliverables.
- Contribute design ideas and practical solutions for new products and product improvements.
- Cooperate with cross-functional teams to meet departmental objectives.
Qualifications
Minimum required:
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering.
- Proficiency with SolidWorks (design/drafting).
- Proficient with Microsoft Office (Project, Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
- Strong written and verbal communication skills; attention to detail.
- Ability to analyze technical information and recommend effective actions.
- Able to speak and write English fluently.
Preferred / Nice-to-have
- ~1 year medical device or related research experience (preferred).
- Background with injection molding, plastic extrusion, and plastic part assembly.
- Experience with U.S. FDA GMP and ISO requirements for design, risk management, and validation.
- Familiarity with ISO and ASTM testing methods for medical devices.
- Prior exposure to design control and regulatory requirements for medical devices.
Skills & Competencies
- Strong problem-solving skills and practical judgment in non-routine situations.
- Ability to present technical information to managers and stakeholders.
- Creativity in applying engineering principles to constrained problems.
- Experience coordinating engineering studies and preparing technical reports.
- Willingness to learn and participate in continuous improvement and training activities.

Compensation
- Estimated salary (Adzuna estimate): $100,815 per year.
