This listing is for a Product Test Engineer (senior-level test engineering role) supporting electronics manufacturing and test in Fort Wayne, IN for a Confidential Client. The role focuses on component-level troubleshooting, test process improvement, and ensuring product compliance in a high-volume electronics manufacturing environment. Shift work (2nd or 3rd shift) is required.
What You’ll Do
- Provide first-line troubleshooting of electronics assemblies to diagnose failures down to component level.
- Use standard electrical lab and test equipment; apply advanced tools/techniques when needed.
- Execute and validate test procedures to ensure product compliance with specifications.
- Work with design and manufacturing teams to identify root causes and drive corrective actions that improve test yield.
- Support continuous improvement and Lean initiatives in the test area.
- Record findings, update test documentation, and communicate technical status to teammates and stakeholders.
Key responsibilities
- Troubleshoot analog, digital, and programmable logic circuits to isolate failures.
- Read and interpret technical specifications, schematics, and assembly drawings.
- Maintain test fixtures, test software, and instrumentation calibration as required.
- Participate in failure analysis, corrective action tracking, and disposition decisions.
- Train and mentor less-experienced technicians/engineers as needed.
- Support process-change implementation to improve throughput, quality, and safety.
Minimum qualifications
- Associates Degree in Electrical Engineering Technology (EET), Electrical Engineering (EE), or equivalent technical experience.
- Intermediate-level technical skills and understanding of electronics manufacturing processes.
- Demonstrated electronics component-level troubleshooting skills and familiarity with electrical test instruments (oscilloscopes, multimeters, logic analyzers, signal generators, etc.).
- Ability to interpret technical specifications and apply them to test/inspection.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work 2nd shift (3:00 pm – 11:00 pm) or 3rd shift (11:00 pm – 7:00 am).
Preferred qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in EET, EE, or related technical discipline.
- Lean Manufacturing experience and familiarity with continuous-improvement tools.
- Proven ability to isolate electrical failures to root cause.
- Experience coordinating multiple activities in a team-based manufacturing environment.
- Advanced-level technical knowledge of system flows, test requirements, and failure analysis.

Compensation & benefits
- Estimated base (from source): $111,800 per year (estimated).
