What You’ll Do

Help interns with disabilities build the skills and confidence to enter the workforce. As an Employment Instructor (Project SEARCH Instructor) with our confidential client, you will combine classroom instruction with hands-on workplace learning at a host business to prepare interns for competitive, integrated employment.

• Teach employability and workplace skills (attendance, communication, time management, task completion)
• Design and deliver classroom lessons aligned with internships and employer expectations
• Assess intern progress and adapt instruction and supports as needed
• Coordinate with families, job coaches, business partners, and community agencies
• Support intern recruitment, onboarding, and documentation (résumés, portfolios, program records)
• Facilitate job exploration and transition from internship to competitive employment

Qualifications

• Relevant training and experience in adult basic education, special education, rehabilitation, or a related field
• Bachelor’s degree preferred
• Strong verbal and written communication skills
• Strong organizational and record-keeping skills
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, Outlook)
• Valid New York State driver’s license and a safe driving record (required)

Compensation & Schedule

• Rate: $24.25 per hour (as listed)
• Employment type: Full-time
• Estimated annualized pay (based on posted hourly rate): ~$50,440/year
