Position summary
Confidential Client is seeking an Employment Case Manager for a JOBS Program to support reentry clients in Paterson, NJ. This full-time role focuses on developing employer relationships, providing job-readiness counseling, coordinating training and placements, and helping clients maintain employment.
What You’ll Do
- Develop and maintain a network of employment opportunities appropriate for individuals with reentry or other employment barriers
- Build relationships with employers and advise on recruiting standards that support hard-to-place applicants
- Coach clients on job search strategies, resume and application preparation, and interviewing skills
- Provide ongoing employment counseling and follow-up to ensure job retention and positive work habits
- Facilitate one-on-one and group personal development and job-readiness sessions
- Connect clients to training, internships, apprenticeships, and available support services
- Prepare timely, accurate documentation in line with contract and company guidelines
- Participate in required training and staff development activities
- Perform other duties as assigned by the Program Manager or Director
Qualifications & Experience
- Minimum one year of relevant experience in a community-based human services organization serving disadvantaged or hard-to-place populations
- Experience developing employer relationships and placing clients into employment or training programs
- Strong verbal and written communication skills; able to engage with employers, clients, and partner agencies
- Ability to plan, organize, and manage caseloads with attention to documentation and outcomes
- Must be able to maintain any required clearance through contracting agencies
Knowledge & Skills
- Knowledge of federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations
- Understanding of employment principles, acceptable workplace behaviors, and job-retention strategies
- Familiarity with local support services, workforce development resources, and skills assessment tools
- Comfortable facilitating group sessions and providing individual counseling
Education
- High school diploma required. Bachelor’s degree in Social Sciences, Human Services, or Business preferred.
Compensation & Employment Details
- Employment type: Full-time
- Location: Paterson, NJ (on-site / local)
- Pay: $21.64 - $22.64 per hour (hourly)
