What You’ll Do

This is an on-site, entry-level Employee Relations (ER) role supporting a data center facility in Abilene, TX. You will act as the first point of contact for routine ER questions from frontline employees and managers, document and triage cases, support manager coaching and HR partners, and escalate higher-risk matters. The role requires consistent on-site presence, shift coverage across days, evenings, weekends, and coordination with HR Centers of Excellence.

• Serve as an on-site first point of contact for routine employee relations intake from employees and frontline managers.
• Perform structured intake, triage, and maintain accurate documentation in the ER case/ticketing system.
• Support day-to-day ER matters including attendance, conduct follow-up, and policy questions; escalate complex or sensitive issues appropriately.
• Prepare materials for manager coaching (templates, timelines, talking points) for review by ER or HR partners.
• Coordinate scheduling, document collection, action-item tracking, and handoffs while maintaining confidentiality.
• Identify and promptly escalate elevated-risk concerns (e.g., discrimination, harassment, retaliation, threats, workplace violence, serious safety/security issues).
• Maintain visible on-floor presence across buildings and shifts; build relationships with employees and shift leaders and surface recurring themes to ER leadership.
• Support ER reporting, case tracking, communications, process improvements, and ad hoc HR projects.

Work Environment & Schedule

• On-site presence required at the Abilene, TX data center facility (24/7 operation).
• Coverage model includes overlapping shifts roughly between 7:00 a.m. and 10:00 p.m.; example shifts: 8a–5p, 10a–7p, 1p–10p.
• Weekend and holiday rotations required; on-call participation may be required based on site needs.
• Role is subject to controlled-access protocols for secure site entry (may include biometric verification).
• This position supports hourly and shift-based frontline workers in an operations/data center environment.

Minimum Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business, Psychology, or related field — or equivalent experience.
• No prior ER experience required; strong willingness to learn ER policies, playbooks, and case documentation standards.
• Strong customer-service mindset and comfort interacting in person with employees and managers professionally.
• Strong written communication, attention to detail, and ability to maintain accurate, confidential records.
• Ability to collaborate effectively with Legal, Benefits, HR Ops/Payroll, Employment Practices, Security, and other HR partners.
• Willingness and ability to work on-site in a shift-based schedule including rotating weekends/holidays.

Preferred Qualifications

• Internship, coursework, or exposure to HR, employee services, operations support, compliance, or customer-facing roles.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
• Experience or exposure to hourly workforce environments (operations, manufacturing, logistics, facilities, or data centers).
• Experience with case/ticketing systems or HRIS, or demonstrated ability to learn new systems quickly.
• Interest in employee relations topics such as manager coaching, workplace investigations, and policy interpretation.

Compensation & Benefits

• Hiring range (US, Abilene, TX): $25.82 to $50.43 per hour; approximately $53,700 to $104,900 per year.
• May be eligible for equity and a comprehensive benefits package, including medical/dental/vision, short- and long-term disability, life insurance, 401(k) with match, paid time off, paid sick leave, parental leave, and voluntary benefits.
• Exact placement into the range will be based on experience, skills, location, and internal equity.
