What You’ll Do

Confidential Client is hiring an on-site Employee Relations Consultant (entry-level) to support a 24/7 data center operation in Abilene, KS. You will be the first point of contact for routine employee relations (ER) intake, case documentation, manager guidance, and escalation of higher-risk matters. This role partners with HR, Legal, Benefits, Payroll/HR Ops, Security, and other COEs to ensure consistent, confidential, and timely resolution of workplace issues.

  • Serve as on-site first point of contact for routine employee relations questions and intake from employees and frontline managers; explain process steps and escalate as needed.
  • Perform structured intake, triage, and documentation in the ER case/ticketing system; maintain accurate notes, supporting materials, and next-step tracking through resolution.
  • Support ER Consultants and HR partners with day-to-day employee relations matters, including workplace concerns, follow-up, attendance issues, and policy questions; escalate sensitive or complex issues appropriately.
  • Prepare materials to support manager coaching (documentation, timelines, templates, talking points) for review by ER or HR partners.
  • Coordinate ER workflows: schedule conversations, collect documents, confirm action items, and ensure timely handoffs while maintaining confidentiality.
  • Identify and promptly escalate elevated-risk concerns (discrimination, harassment, retaliation, threats, workplace violence, serious safety/security issues).
  • Maintain an on-floor presence across buildings and shifts; build relationships with employees and shift leaders and surface recurring themes to ER and HR leadership.
  • Support ER reporting, case tracking, communications, process improvements, and HR projects as assigned.

  • No prior ER experience required; commitment to learning ER playbooks, case documentation standards, and escalation practices.
  • Strong customer-service mindset; comfortable handling in-person employee and manager questions professionally and with care.
  • Strong written communication, attention to detail, and ability to maintain accurate, confidential documentation.
  • Demonstrated ability to collaborate effectively with Legal, Benefits, HRS, HR Ops/Payroll, Employment Practices, Security, and other COE partners on routine/low-complexity matters and escalations.
