Overview
Confidential Client is seeking an Employee Benefits Producing Consultant to grow new business in the small-business market. This high-volume sales role focuses on prospecting, closing new accounts, and building a sustainable book of business. The role is based in Portland, OR and combines consultative selling with account development and collaboration with internal specialists.

- Work in a dynamic sales environment focused on acquiring new clients.
- Leverage company resources and marketing campaigns to generate leads and strengthen market presence.
- Partner with internal subject-matter experts (benefits, brokerage, HR consulting) to deliver client solutions.
- Receive account management support to help retain and expand client relationships.
- Be rewarded for building and growing a book of business.
How You’ll Make an Impact
Objectives for success include:
- Act like an entrepreneur: develop a book of business by acquiring new clients and target closing approximately one new deal per week.
- Maintain a robust pipeline of qualified leads that exceeds goals and keep pipeline data current in the CRM.
- Conduct confident client discovery conversations with business owners and key stakeholders to identify needs and propose tailored employee benefits solutions.
- Coordinate regular check‑ins with Client Service and schedule internal account review meetings to support retention and expansion.
- Build internal networks with Producer peers and other specialists to gain introductions and referral opportunities.
- Continuously solicit feedback, train and mentor junior teammates during prospecting and account management stages, and document competitive intel (wins/losses).
About You
Required
- Bachelor’s degree and 1 year related experience with appropriate insurance licensing; OR
- Bachelor’s degree plus participation in a relevant sales internship program and appropriate insurance licensing; OR
- High School Diploma/GED and 6 years’ related experience.
- Client-facing experience and strong communication skills.
- Self-starter who can work independently with minimal direction.
Preferred
- Professional designation such as CEBS preferred.
- Active Life and Health insurance license preferred.
- Experience at a consulting firm, insurance company, or brokerage within Health & Benefits.
