About the Role

Confidential Client is seeking an Emergency Services Screener to join their Behavioral Health team at the Morton Plant North Bay Recovery Center in Lutz, FL. This is an as-needed (PRN) clinical screening role focused on crisis intervention, psychiatric intake, and triage for adults, children and adolescents.

What You’ll Do

• Provide crisis intervention, clinical assessment and disposition recommendations for voluntary and involuntary psychiatric and substance-use presentations.
• Coordinate the intake/psych ED waiting area with intake and ED team members to ensure safety, welfare and security of persons served.
• Triage and screen referrals from law enforcement, hospitals, central access and outpatient agencies for placement in a behavioral health receiving facility.
• Respond to telephone and in-person referral requests and provide accurate, professional guidance and referrals.
• Document screenings and assessments in accordance with facility policies and applicable regulations.
• Collaborate with multi-disciplinary teams to support patient flow and least-restrictive disposition planning.
• Perform other duties as assigned to support patient care and unit operations.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Counseling, Social Work, Nursing, Special Education, Health Education, Human Services, or a related field.
• Minimum 1 year of mental health experience required. Mental health internship with 6 months acute emergency care preferred.
• Current BLS (Basic Life Support) certification.
• Strong crisis assessment, de-escalation and documentation skills.
• Ability to interact professionally with law enforcement, external providers and multidisciplinary teams.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills and strong situational judgment.
• Must be able to pass Level II background screening through the Florida Care Provider Background Screening Clearinghouse (AHCA) as required for this position.

Schedule & Location

• Location: Morton Plant North Bay Recovery Center — Lutz, FL.
• Status: PRN (as-needed).
• Typical shift hours listed: 6:45 AM – 7:15 PM (schedule and weekend coverage as needed).
• On-call: No (per posting).

Compensation & Benefits

• Estimated pay: $46,185 per year (estimated).
