What You’ll Do
This confidential client is hiring an entry-level Embedded Systems / Electrical Engineer to help design, develop, and support control systems used in commercial and industrial laundry machines. You’ll work on embedded firmware, PLC logic, HMI interfaces, and close collaboration with mechanical and production teams to bring reliable automation systems to market.
- Develop, test, and maintain embedded firmware (primarily in C) for machine control systems
- Write, debug, and validate PLC programs for automation and safety logic
- Assist with HMI design, diagnostics screens, and operator controls
- Integrate sensors, motors, control boards, and peripheral electronics with firmware and PLC logic
- Support system-level testing, validation, troubleshooting and performance optimization
- Maintain source control, software documentation, and change records (versioning, release notes)
- Collaborate with electrical, mechanical, manufacturing, and field teams to resolve issues and implement improvements
- Support on-site troubleshooting and production floor rollouts as needed
What We’re Looking For
Candidates should be early-career embedded systems or electrical engineers who can move quickly from concept to tested firmware/controls in an industrial setting.
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or related technical field
- 0–3 years of experience in embedded systems, controls, or industrial automation (entry-level to junior)
- Proficiency in C programming for embedded targets
- Experience or coursework in embedded firmware development and debugging
- Basic PLC programming knowledge (ladder logic, function blocks, or structured text)
- Familiarity with HMI concepts and implementing display/diagnostics screens
- Comfortable using Visual Studio / similar IDEs for development and debugging
- Strong troubleshooting, debugging, and analytical problem-solving skills
- Good communication skills and ability to work effectively in cross-functional teams
Physical Requirements
- Ability to sit, stand, and walk for extended periods during testing and shop-floor support
- Occasionally lift/carry up to 25 pounds (components, test equipment)
- Comfortable working in an industrial manufacturing environment around machinery and electrical equipment
- Ability to use computers, test instruments, and hand tools as required
- Ability to read technical diagrams, distinguish colors, and interpret engineering documentation

- Location: Kenner, LA (on-site / manufacturing environment)
- Estimated salary (source data): $100,017 per year (estimated)
