Overview
Confidential Client is hiring an Embedded Software Test Engineer to support vehicle electrical and software systems testing. This role focuses on creating and executing software and hardware test plans, performing diagnostic troubleshooting, and supporting machine-level testing. The position is full-time, offers a competitive pay range, and includes a comprehensive benefits package.
This role is based in Center Grove, IA and is telecommute-eligible (remote/telecommute options available). Note: the role also requires on-site work at customer facilities and may require travel to field sites for troubleshooting and validation.
Responsibilities
- Create and deliver application-level and remote software testing plans.
- Develop hardware test plans (e.g., OS configurations, EDL, harnesses).
- Design and execute regression test plans.
- Perform live software delivery testing and remote assessments.
- Participate in tactical project meetings and coordinate with engineering leads.
- Support testing activities to meet product release schedules.
- Travel to customer or field locations as needed to diagnose complex issues and support quality or marketing activities.
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Engineering or Computer Science.
- Ability to read and interpret software requirements, state diagrams, and test documentation.
- Ability to interpret hardware schematics for wiring and electronic controllers.
- Ability to operate machinery or heavy equipment during testing.
- Valid driver’s license and ability to travel to customer/field sites as required.

- Prior software development and hands-on software testing experience.
- Familiarity with embedded systems and vehicle/ off-highway equipment.

Compensation & Benefits
- Pay Range: $65,000 - $100,000 annually (commensurate with experience).
