What You’ll Do
Confidential Client is seeking an Embedded Software Engineer to design, develop, and maintain embedded systems and supporting backend services used in aerospace/aviation component environments. You will work across firmware, OS-level components, developer tooling, and ML inference deployment to make systems reliable, performant, and production-ready.
- Design, implement, and maintain embedded software components in C++ and Python.
- Build and maintain Linux-based tooling, command-line utilities, and system services.
- Deploy and optimize machine-learning models and inference runtimes (including GPU acceleration where applicable).
- Develop automation, internal developer tools, and backend services/integrations to support developer productivity and fleet operations.
- Troubleshoot and debug distributed or multi-component systems; analyze logs, runbooks, and operational data to resolve issues.
- Implement APIs, structured-data integrations, and event-driven workflows.
- Build and improve retrieval, search, and AI-assisted knowledge systems (using documentation, logs, and runbooks).
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams (hardware, systems, data science, QA) to ship reliable features.
- Write tests, performance benchmarks, and clear technical documentation.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field — or equivalent practical experience.
- Hands-on software development experience using C++ and Python.
- Strong familiarity with Linux systems, command-line tooling, networking fundamentals, and system debugging.
- Experience building automation, developer tooling, backend services, or system integrations.
- Working knowledge of APIs, structured data, databases, and event-driven or workflow systems.
- Experience with ML model deployment, inference runtimes, GPU acceleration, or performance benchmarking (preferred).
- Experience or familiarity with simulation environments, calibration workflows, digital assets, or robot fleet management is a plus.
- Comfortable designing solutions for reliability, observability, and operational scale.
Nice-to-Have / Preferred
- Prior work on embedded systems for aerospace, robotics, or large-scale fleet systems.
- Experience building search/retrieval or AI-assisted knowledge systems from operational data.
- Familiarity with performance profiling, low-latency inference, and hardware-accelerated ML runtimes.
Compensation & Benefits
- Base pay range: $50.00/hr - $55.00/hr (hourly). Actual pay will be based on your skills, experience, and role-specific factors.
- Full-time employment (benefits eligibility per Confidential Client policy).
