What You’ll Do

Join a small embedded team building the next generation of secure communications devices used in harsh or mission-critical environments. You will:

  • Design, implement, and maintain embedded firmware in Embedded C for production devices
  • Work on Linux kernel-level features, BSP, and device drivers
  • Debug hardware/software integration issues using logic analyzers, JTAG, serial consoles, and kernel tooling
  • Collaborate with electrical engineers, QA, and systems engineers to bring features from prototype to production
  • Participate in code reviews, CI testing, and release activities
  • Maintain clear technical documentation and support root-cause analysis for field issues

What We’re Looking For

We want pragmatic engineers who can move from concept to production while maintaining quality for safety- and mission-critical deployments.

  • Strong foundation in Embedded C development for resource-constrained devices
  • Experience modifying or extending the Linux Kernel, developing drivers, and working with BSPs
  • Familiarity with hardware interfaces (UART, SPI, I2C, GPIO) and low-level debugging
  • Comfortable writing unit and integration tests and participating in CI workflows
  • Effective communicator in small, cross-functional teams

Minimum Qualifications

  • 2–6 years professional experience in embedded systems firmware development
  • Proficient in Embedded C
  • Hands-on experience with Linux kernel development and driver implementation
  • Experience with BSPs and hardware bring-up
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or equivalent experience
  • Legally authorized to work in the United States — due to government-related work, US citizenship is required

Preferred (Nice to Have)

  • Experience in secure communications or radio/telecom products
  • Experience with Yocto/OpenEmbedded or building custom Linux distributions
  • Knowledge of safety or security-focused development practices
  • Familiarity with version control (Git), cross-compilation toolchains, and build systems

Location, Compensation & Schedule

  • Location: Los Angeles Metropolitan Area — hybrid position (minimum 3 days on-site per week)
  • Compensation: Up to $165,000 per year (salary dependent on experience and qualifications)
  • Employment type: Full-time
  • Seniority level: Associate
