What You’ll Do
This position is for an Embedded Software Engineer II to work onsite in El Segundo, CA for a confidential client in Defense and Space Manufacturing. You will design, develop, test, and integrate real-time embedded software for mission-critical systems. You will work on new and legacy programs across the full software lifecycle in a multi-disciplined team environment.
- Support all aspects of the software development lifecycle: requirements, design, implementation, integration, verification, and maintenance.
- Develop, test, and integrate real-time software components written primarily in C++ (or similar languages).
- Implement and maintain automated build, test, and static-analysis tooling as part of a DevSecOps pipeline.
- Collaborate with systems engineers, hardware engineers, and test teams to deliver integrated solutions that meet operational requirements.
- Troubleshoot complex issues in software/hardware integration and provide creative, practical solutions.
- Work with lab test benches, simulators, and physical hardware during integration and verification.
- Occasionally travel for program-related activities (meetings, integration events, on-site testing).
Qualifications — Must Have
- Bachelor’s degree in a STEM field (or equivalent experience).
- Minimum ~2 years of professional experience developing real-time embedded software.
- Proficiency in C++ for real-time applications.
- Experience with scripting languages (Shell, Perl, or Python) for automation and test.
- Active, transferable U.S. government Secret security clearance required prior to start.
- U.S. citizenship is required (only U.S. citizens are eligible for the required clearance).
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with Linux, VxWorks, or other real-time operating systems.
- Hands-on experience working with hardware-in-the-loop, test benches, or simulators.
- Familiarity with Agile/Scrum product development methods.
- Experience implementing or using DevSecOps pipelines: CI/CD, static code analysis, automated builds and tests, and test-driven development.
- Practical experience with Git and GitLab for source control and repository management.
- Ability to rapidly understand and navigate complex legacy code bases.
What We Offer
- Salary range: 75,800 USD - 144,200 USD (good-faith estimate across experience levels). Final offers consider role, experience, location, and skills.

Location & Clearance
