What You’ll Do
This entry-level embedded software role at our confidential client focuses on developing and maintaining firmware and embedded applications for consumer electronics products. You will build on existing codebases and participate in the full development lifecycle under guidance from more senior engineers.
- Perform new product and application software design, development, and maintenance using C, C++, C#, Java, assembly, or other selected languages
- Reproduce, troubleshoot, and resolve basic issue reports; evaluate root causes and implement software fixes
- Identify and resolve defects of basic scope using debuggers, emulators, simulators, and logic analyzers
- Apply documented design standards and procedures; produce clear technical documentation for basic designs
- Participate in a rotating on-call schedule to support 24/7 operations as required
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Math, Physics, or a related field — OR equivalent combination of education and experience
- Demonstrated coursework, projects, or experience developing software in C, C++, C#, Java, assembly, or similar languages
- Strong problem-solving ability and familiarity with debugging tools and development workflows
- Effective written and verbal communication skills
- Willingness to support rotating on-call shifts
Preferred Qualifications
- Outstanding academics (cumulative GPA ≥ 3.5)
- Previous internship or co-op experience in product design or embedded systems, particularly for consumer electronics
- Familiarity with embedded system constraints (memory, real-time behavior) and hardware/software integration
- Experience with version control (Git), unit testing, and continuous integration
