Confidential Client is hiring elite software engineers for in-office roles in Vienna, VA. This is a high-bar, technical engineering hiring campaign seeking top-tier engineers (top ~5%) for multiple roles across backend, systems, full-stack, embedded, and applied AI. Only U.S. citizens and Lawful Permanent Residents (LPR/"Green Card") will be considered. No visa sponsorship is available.

What You’ll Do

Confidential Client builds automated methods to test and verify large, complex software systems. You will work on technically challenging problems across kernels, databases, distributed systems, and verification tooling. Expect to:

• Design and implement robust, high-performance systems and services
• Solve algorithmic and systems-level problems that require deep CS fundamentals
• Contribute across the stack — from low-level systems to front-end components
• Collaborate with a ~50-person engineering & science team to ship production features
• Present technical work and defend architecture/design decisions in interview/on-site presentations

Required Qualifications

• 3+ years software engineering experience (5+ preferred for most senior roles)
• Strong CS fundamentals — algorithms, data structures, complexity analysis
• Experience with systems-level concepts (kernels, networking, DB internals, distributed systems) for many roles
• Bachelor's or Master’s degree in Computer Science (rare exceptions only)
• Must be a U.S. citizen or Lawful Permanent Resident (LPR). No visa sponsorship.
• Able to work in-office in Vienna, VA (remote-only candidates will not be considered)

Preferred / Strongly Valued

• 10+ years experience for positions targeted above ~$200K total compensation
• Prior experience delivering production products at scale
• Experience scaling or mentoring high-performing technical teams
• Experience solving very hard technical problems and showing measurable impact
• Familiarity with Nix/NixOS is a plus

Compensation & Benefits

• Base salary range: $150,000 — $250,000 (total comp varies with equity mix; >$200K expected for 10+ years experience and outstanding interviews)
