Confidential Client (via Careertakes) is seeking an Electronics Technician for a contract-to-hire, fully onsite role in Progress, OR. This hands-on position focuses on diagnosing and resolving electronic failures in precision test and measurement equipment, working down to the component level. Open to entry-level electrical engineers and applicants with electronics technician experience.
Key responsibilities
- Perform root-cause analysis of electronic failures on complex products and assemblies.
- Interpret schematics, block diagrams, and wiring diagrams to isolate faults.
- Troubleshoot down to the component level using structured logic and diagnostic processes.
- Use historical failure data, internal diagnostics, and test results to guide repair decisions.
- Apply electrical engineering principles to identify likely failure points.
- Operate electronic test equipment (oscilloscopes, signal generators, DMMs, power supplies, logic analyzers) to validate repairs.
- Execute functional and performance tests after repair to confirm compliance with specifications.
- Support production and engineering teams with technical evaluations and failure analysis.
Essential skills & qualifications
- Strong understanding of analog and digital circuits, passive and active components.
- Ability to read and interpret schematics and understand circuit functionality.
- Familiarity with common failure modes in electronic assemblies.
- Proficiency with diagnostic instruments: oscilloscopes, multimeters, logic analyzers, signal generators.
- Degree or experience: Bachelor’s in Electronics or related, Associate’s degree, military electronics experience, or equivalent hands‑on experience.
Additional skills (nice to have)
- Component-level repair, PCB debugging, calibration experience.
- Pattern recognition and logical fault isolation techniques.
- Clear technical communication and documentation skills.
- Experience supporting manufacturing or test floor activities.
Compensation & benefits
- Pay range: $29.00 - $33.00 per hour (range provided by the client).
