Electronics Technician
The Electronics Technician role involves diagnosing and repairing precision test and measurement instruments by applying solid electronics theory and logical troubleshooting methods. The technician will work onsite in a manufacturing and clean room environment, using test equipment to verify repairs and supporting production and engineering teams with failure analysis and technical reviews.

Overview
Confidential Client is seeking an Electronics Technician to diagnose and repair precision test and measurement instruments at their onsite Beaverton, OR facility. This is a contract-to-hire, full-time bench role where about 80% of the time is spent troubleshooting and 20% running test gear to verify repairs. Entry-level applicants with a bachelor’s degree are welcome.
What You’ll Do
- Find root causes of electronic failures on complex instrumentation using logic and electronics fundamentals.
- Work through schematics, block diagrams, and wiring diagrams to isolate faults.
- Trace problems to the component level with a structured, repeatable approach.
- Use failure history, in-house diagnostics, and test data to guide repairs.
- Predict likely failure points using electrical engineering basics before part swaps.
- Use oscilloscopes, signal generators, digital multimeters (DMMs), power supplies, and logic analyzers to test and validate repairs.
- Perform functional and performance testing against specifications after repairs.
- Support production and engineering teams with technical reviews and failure analysis.
Qualifications
Required
- Bachelor’s degree in Electronics, Associate’s degree, or equivalent electronics experience (including military).
- Solid grasp of analog and digital circuits, including passive and active components.
- Ability to read schematics, identify components, and explain their function.
- Familiarity with common failure modes for electronic assemblies.
- Hands-on experience with oscilloscopes, multimeters, and logic analyzers.
- Clear written and verbal communication about what failed, why, and how it was fixed.
Preferred
- MECOP internship or co-op experience.
- Field service or equipment technician experience focused on electronics troubleshooting.
- Experience with calibration, debugging, circuit board work, and electronics testing.
- Mechanical aptitude and bench-hand skills.
Work Location & Schedule
- This position is fully onsite at the Confidential Client’s manufacturing / clean-room facility in Beaverton, OR.
- Typical schedule: full-time bench work diagnosing and repairing instruments, plus test verification and production support.
- Position type: Contract to Hire.
Compensation & Benefits
- Pay range: $29.00 - $33.00 per hour. Final pay within this range depends on qualifications, experience, and other job-related factors.
