Electronics Technician
The Electronics Technician is responsible for diagnosing and repairing electronic failures in precision test and measurement equipment by performing root-cause analysis and troubleshooting down to the component level. This role requires strong knowledge of analog and digital circuits, proficiency with diagnostic instruments, and the ability to support production and engineering teams through technical evaluations and failure analysis. The position is a contract role based onsite in Beaverton, OR, within a manufacturing and clean environment.

What You’ll Do
This contract role supports on-site troubleshooting, repair, and failure analysis of precision test and measurement equipment. Responsibilities include:
- Perform root-cause analysis of electronic failures on complex electromechanical products.
- Read and interpret schematics, block diagrams, and wiring diagrams to isolate faults.
- Troubleshoot down to the component level using structured logic and systematic approaches.
- Use historical failure data, internal diagnostics, and test results to guide repair decisions.
- Apply electrical engineering principles to identify likely failure points and corrective actions.
- Operate and maintain electronic test equipment (oscilloscopes, signal generators, DMMs, power supplies, logic analyzers).
- Execute functional and performance tests after repair to confirm compliance with specifications.
- Support production and engineering teams with technical evaluations and documented failure analyses.
What We’re Looking For
Minimum qualifications and skills for success in this role:
- Strong understanding of analog and digital circuits, including passive and active components.
- Ability to read and interpret schematics and understand circuit functionality.
- Proven component-level troubleshooting and repair skills.
- Proficiency with diagnostic instruments (oscilloscopes, multimeters, logic analyzers).
- Associates degree, Bachelor’s degree in Electronics/Electrical Engineering, military electronics training, or equivalent hands-on experience.
- Clear technical communication skills for documenting findings and working with cross-functional teams.
Preferred / Additional Qualifications
- Experience in manufacturing or clean-room environments.
- Background in field service, device/equipment maintenance, or calibration.
- Familiarity with device debugging, calibration, and circuit-board level repair.
- Willingness to take an electronics evaluation test covering component ID, schematic comprehension, and basic troubleshooting as part of the hiring process.
Work Environment & Position Details
- Location: Onsite in Beaverton, OR (fully onsite).
- Employment type: Contract.
- Pay range: $29.00 - $33.00 per hour. Actual compensation will depend on experience, qualifications, and other job-related factors.
