Role Overview

Confidential Client is seeking an Electronics Engineering Technician for a contract, fully onsite role in Beaverton, OR. This hands-on position focuses on diagnosing and repairing precision test and measurement equipment down to the component level. The role requires strong electronics fundamentals, methodical troubleshooting, and proficiency with common diagnostic instruments.


What You’ll Do

  • Perform root-cause analysis of electronic failures on complex products and assemblies.
  • Read and interpret schematics, block diagrams, and wiring diagrams to isolate faults.
  • Troubleshoot to the component level using logical, systematic approaches.
  • Use historical failure data, diagnostic tools, and test results to guide repair strategies.
  • Apply electrical engineering principles to identify likely failure points.
  • Operate oscilloscopes, signal generators, multimeters (DMMs), power supplies, and logic analyzers to validate repairs.
  • Execute functional and performance tests to confirm devices meet specifications.
  • Support production floor and engineering teams with technical evaluations and failure analysis.

Essential Skills

  • Strong understanding of analog and digital circuits, including passive and active components.
  • Ability to read and interpret schematics and understand circuit functionality.
  • Familiarity with common failure modes in electronic assemblies.
  • Proficiency using diagnostic instruments (oscilloscopes, multimeters, logic analyzers, signal generators).
  • Degree or training: Bachelor’s in Electronics preferred; Associate’s, military electronics/avionics training, or equivalent hands-on experience accepted.

Additional Qualifications

  • Candidates with entry-level bachelor’s backgrounds who demonstrate strong hands-on troubleshooting are encouraged to apply.
  • Field service technicians with solid electronics diagnostics experience are welcome.
  • Device/equipment technicians with PCB-level repair, debugging, or calibration experience are a good fit.
  • Clear technical communication skills to document findings and explain repairs.
  • Mechanical aptitude and prior experience in a manufacturing or lab environment a plus.

Work Environment & Logistics

  • This is a fully onsite contract position based in Beaverton, OR (manufacturing and clean lab environment).
  • The hiring process may include an electronics evaluation covering component identification, schematic comprehension, and basic circuit troubleshooting.

Compensation & Benefits

  • Pay range: $29.00 - $33.00 per hour. Individual compensation within this range will depend on experience, qualifications, and other job-related factors.
