Overview

Confidential Client (Engineering) is hiring an Electronics Design Engineer I (Onsite) to design, develop, and verify high‑speed digital hardware used in aerospace imaging and electronic warfare products. This hands‑on engineering role works on circuit card assemblies, ECAD layouts, signal integrity analysis, and collaborates across mechanical, firmware, test, systems, and manufacturing teams.

What You’ll Do

• Design and develop high‑speed digital hardware for aerospace imaging systems and test equipment.
• Create and review schematics, perform circuit analysis, and produce circuit card layouts using ECAD tools.
• Perform signal integrity analysis and support design verification in lab environments.
• Collaborate with mechanical, firmware, test, systems, and manufacturing engineering to produce manufacturable designs compliant with IPC standards.
• Support manufacturing and assembly readiness activities and design-for-test guidance.

Qualifications You Must Have

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or related STEM field completed by the start date.
• Coursework or lab experience in digital design and electronics: signals evaluation, solid‑state electronics, basic signal processing, filter design, and power electronics.
• Coursework or lab experience in analog and RF circuit design and analysis.
• Demonstrated circuit schematic capture and circuit layout experience (may be academic projects, research, or on‑the‑job experience).
• Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government security clearance is required. U.S. citizenship required. Active DoD Secret clearance or ability to transition to an active clearance as required by the role.

Qualifications We Prefer

• Hands‑on use of oscilloscopes, spectrum analyzers, function generators, and power supplies.
• Experience with circuit simulation and analysis tools (SPICE, MATLAB) and signal‑integrity tooling (e.g., HyperLynx).
• Proficiency with ECAD/layout tools such as Altium, OrCAD, Mentor Expedition, or equivalent.
• Prior completion of electronics design projects with requirements definition, simulation, and lab verification.
• Experience with configurable/programmable logic and AMD (Xilinx) FPGA toolchains (design, testbenches, debugging).

Compensation & Benefits

• Salary range: $62,900 - $119,700 USD per year (good‑faith estimate covering all experience levels).

• Work type: Onsite — this position is based in Isla Vista, CA and employees will work primarily onsite. Relocation eligibility may apply.
