As an Electronic Systems Product Engineer in Seymour, IN, you will work on mechanical integration and validation of electronic hardware for power systems products — applying mechatronics, simulation, calibration, and verification methods to deliver reliable product solutions. You will own problem resolution for moderately complex systems and collaborate across engineering, manufacturing, and supplier teams.

  • Investigate electronic application and system problems; identify root causes and recommend corrective actions.
  • Execute established processes for requirements, modeling/simulation, calibration, DVP&R, and troubleshooting.
  • Deliver technical recommendations that inform product decisions and improve performance, reliability, cost, and quality.
  • Coordinate with manufacturing, suppliers, and cross-functional teams to validate design choices and ensure successful product integration.
  • Document technical findings, test results, and verification evidence to support product lifecycle decisions.

Responsibilities

  • Design and application of mechatronics systems and electronic hardware (sensors, control units, harnesses, panels, support structures).
  • Machine integration and system optimization using best practices and standard tools.
  • Product failure mode avoidance through interface analysis, requirements traceability, and risk mitigation.
  • Product function modeling, simulation, and analysis to guide design choices.
  • Product verification & validation: develop and execute validation plans, interpret simulation and test results.
  • System requirements engineering: translate stakeholder needs into verifiable requirements and acceptance criteria.
  • Apply statistical methods (descriptive stats, inference, regression, DOE) for data-driven decisions.
  • Cross-functional design integration and technical documentation to support knowledge transfer.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement of systems, tools, and processes.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or a relevant STEM field required; Master’s degree may be required for select roles.
  • Entry level / Early career (designed for candidates within 2 years of completing their highest-level degree).
  • U.S.-based roles: F-1 students must have approved CPT or OPT before assignment start; candidates are responsible for securing authorization through their university.

  • Strong written and verbal communication, collaboration skills, and the ability to manage ambiguous requirements.

Skills & Tools

  • Strong preference for experience with:
    • Creo / Creo Cabling
    • Windchill
    • MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
  • Familiarity with simulation, calibration tools, and product life maintenance workflows.
  • Knowledge of open/closed-loop control concepts and interactions between hardware and software is a plus.
