What You’ll Do

You’ll join a project team working on building electrical systems and will be supported with mentorship and structured development. Typical responsibilities include:

• Assist with the design and analysis of electrical systems for buildings, producing drawings, specifications, and calculations using industry tools.
• Support project execution and documentation to help meet scope, schedule, and budget goals.
• Interact with clients to gather requirements and clearly communicate technical information.
• Help maintain client relationships through professional, timely communication.
• Assist with project planning, scheduling, and design-progress documentation.
• Analyze low- to medium-complexity engineering tasks with guidance from senior engineers.
• Participate in quality control and review processes to ensure design compliance with standards and client requirements.
• Stay current on industry trends, energy-efficiency goals (e.g., MEP2050/AIA2030), and emerging technologies.
• Prioritize safety and help identify potential electrical-system risks.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams (engineers, architects, project managers) to deliver integrated solutions.

What You’ll Bring

• Bachelor of Science (BS) in Electrical Engineering (or equivalent) required
• Engineering-in-Training (EIT) or equivalent required
• Knowledge of electrical design principles (circuit theory, power systems, lighting, etc.) relevant to building systems
• Familiarity with lighting photometric tools (AGI, ElumTools, Visual Lighting or similar) and energy compliance software (ComCheck)
• Experience or familiarity with Bluebeam Revu / Adobe and MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)
• Basic knowledge of Building Information Modeling (BIM) workflows
• Strong technical and analytical skills, attention to detail, and problem-solving ability
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills; ability to work collaboratively in a team
• Eagerness to learn, adapt, and take on new challenges
• Ability to travel up to 5% with occasional overnight stays

Preferred

• Prior internship or relevant practical experience in building design consulting
• EIT license (if not already held)

Physical Requirements

• Regularly required to sit, walk, stand, talk, see, hear, and lift objects up to 25 pounds
• Occasionally required to drive, kneel, stoop, crouch, crawl, reach with hands or arms, and grasp or pull
• Limited exposure to outside weather conditions and occasional loud noises
