What You’ll Do
Confidential Client is hiring an entry-level Electrical Engineer to support design, analysis, and implementation oversight of electrical systems for building projects in New York, NY. This role offers hands-on project work, training, and mentorship to help you develop technical and consulting skills.
- Assist in electrical system design and calculations aligned with code requirements and client standards.
- Produce design documentation, specifications, and deliverables for commercial and institutional projects.
- Support project planning, scheduling, and tracking to help meet budgets and timelines.
- Communicate with clients to gather requirements and convey technical information professionally.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams (mechanical, plumbing, architecture, project managers) to produce integrated solutions.
- Participate in quality control reviews and implement feedback to meet project and industry standards.
- Research industry trends and emerging technologies to support innovation and energy-efficient design goals.
- Prioritize safety and identify/mitigate electrical system risks on projects.
- Travel up to 5% for site visits or client meetings (occasional overnight stays).
What You’ll Bring
Education & certification
- Bachelor of Science (BS) in Electrical Engineering or equivalent required
- Engineering in Training (EIT) certification or equivalent required
Technical skills
- Strong foundation in circuit theory, power systems, electromagnetism, and building electrical systems design
- Familiarity with lighting photometric tools (AGI, ElumTools, Visual Lighting, or similar)
- Experience or exposure to energy compliance tools (e.g., ComCheck)
- Basic proficiency with BIM tools and common office software (MS Word, Excel, Outlook)
- Comfortable using PDF/markup software (e.g., Bluebeam Revu or Adobe)
Core abilities
- Clear oral and written communication skills for client and team interactions
- Strong attention to detail, problem-solving, and eagerness to learn
- Ability to work collaboratively within project teams
Preferred
- Prior internship or co-op experience in building design consulting
- Progress toward EIT/FE or related professional licensure
Physical Requirements
- Regularly required to sit, walk, stand, talk, see, hear, and lift up to 25 pounds
- Occasionally required to drive, kneel, stoop, crouch, crawl, reach, grasp, or pull
- May have limited exposure to outdoor weather conditions and workplace noise

Compensation & Benefits
- Salary range for New York, NY: $76,000 – $80,000 per year (base pay)
- Additional rewards may include bonuses and stock/ownership programs, where applicable.
