What You’ll Do
Confidential Client is hiring an entry‑level Electrical Engineer to support the analysis, design, and implementation oversight of building electrical systems. This is a hands‑on, mentorship‑driven role within a multidisciplinary MEP practice working on government/municipal and science & technology projects.
- Assist in design and analysis of electrical systems using industry software and engineering tools.
- Produce calculations, specifications, and technical plans that meet code and firm standards.
- Support project planning, scheduling, and documentation of design decisions.
- Participate in quality control reviews and coordinate with senior engineers to develop practical solutions.
- Communicate with clients to gather requirements and share technical information clearly.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to meet project goals, including sustainable and energy‑efficient solutions aligned with industry targets.
- Stay current on industry trends and contribute to research and innovation efforts.
- Prioritize safety and identify/mitigate electrical system risks.
- Travel as needed (up to ~5%), including occasional overnight stays.
What You’ll Bring
Education & credentials:
- Bachelor of Science (BS) in Electrical Engineering (or equivalent).
- Engineering-in-Training (EIT) certification or equivalent required.
Core skills:
- Knowledge of electrical systems design for buildings — circuit theory, power distribution, lighting, and controls.
- Familiarity with lighting photometric tools (AGi32, ElumTools, Visual Lighting, or similar) and energy compliance tools (e.g., ComCheck).
- Basic Building Information Modeling (BIM) experience.
- Proficiency with MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) and PDF/markup tools (Adobe, Bluebeam Revu).
- Strong analytical, written, and verbal communication skills.
- Attention to detail, teamwork orientation, and eagerness to learn.
Logistics:
- Work schedule: Full‑time, hybrid.

- Ability to travel up to 5%.
Preferred
- Prior internship experience in building design or engineering consulting.
- EIT license (if not already listed as required).
Physical Requirements

Compensation & Benefits
