What You’ll Do
This is an entry-level Electrical Engineering New Graduate role supporting MEP design and consulting projects. You will work under experienced engineers to develop electrical system designs for commercial, multifamily, and retail projects and gain hands-on experience in calculations, documentation, and project delivery.
- Assist in the design and analysis of electrical systems for buildings, producing drawings, specifications, and engineering calculations that meet code and client requirements.
- Support project planning, scheduling, and coordination with internal teams and external consultants.
- Gather project requirements and communicate technical information clearly to clients and project stakeholders.
- Document design decisions, review drawings, and monitor design progress under senior engineer guidance.
- Perform low- to medium-complexity engineering analyses and propose practical solutions.
- Participate in quality control and assurance processes to ensure work meets company and industry standards.
- Research and stay current with industry trends, energy-efficiency goals (e.g., MEP2050/AIA2030), and new technologies.
- Help identify potential safety risks related to electrical systems and support mitigation efforts.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams (mechanical, plumbing, architectural) to deliver integrated building systems.
What You’ll Bring
Location & Logistics Confidential Client is hiring for an in-office, full-time position based in Atlanta, GA. Travel: up to 5% (occasional overnight).
Required Education
- Bachelor of Science (BS) in Electrical Engineering or equivalent.
- Engineering in Training (EIT) certification or equivalent required.
Required Skills & Abilities
- Working knowledge of electrical design principles—circuit theory, power distribution, lighting, and building systems.
- Familiarity with industry-standard engineering tools, including lighting photometric software (AGI, ElumTools, Visual Lighting or similar) and energy compliance tools such as ComCheck.
- Comfortable using document and markup tools (e.g., Adobe, Bluebeam Revu) and MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).
- Basic experience or exposure to Building Information Modeling (BIM).
- Strong technical problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and eagerness to learn.
- Clear verbal and written communication skills and ability to work collaboratively on project teams.
- Willingness to travel up to 5% with occasional overnight stays.
Preferred
- Internship or prior experience in building design consulting.
- Active EIT license or progress toward PE.
