What You’ll Do
Confidential Client is hiring an entry-level Electrical Engineering Graduate to support building electrical system design, analysis, and implementation oversight. You will work with a project team and senior engineers to deliver technical plans and client-focused solutions.
- Assist in the design and analysis of electrical systems using engineering software and tools to create detailed designs, specifications, and calculations that meet code and client requirements.
- Communicate with clients to gather requirements, present technical information clearly, and help maintain professional client relationships.
- Support project planning, scheduling, documentation, and quality control to help projects meet budgets and timelines.
- Analyze low-to-medium complexity engineering tasks and propose solutions in collaboration with senior staff.
- Participate in quality control reviews and ensure designs adhere to industry and company standards.
- Keep current with industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices; contribute to research and innovation efforts.
- Prioritize safety by identifying and mitigating potential risks associated with electrical systems.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams (engineers, architects, project managers) to deliver integrated solutions.
What You’ll Bring
Required
- Bachelor of Science (BS) in Electrical Engineering or equivalent.
- No prior professional experience required — this is an entry-level/new-graduate role.
- Knowledge of electrical design techniques, circuit theory, power systems, electromagnetism, and building electrical systems design.
- Familiarity with industry software and tools (lighting photometric tools such as AGI/Elum/Visual Lighting or similar; energy compliance tools such as ComCheck; Adobe or Bluebeam Revu).
- Basic knowledge of Building Information Modeling (BIM) software for electrical design.
- Proficient with MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).
- Strong written and verbal communication skills and ability to work collaboratively on teams.
- Attention to detail, problem-solving mindset, and eagerness to learn.
- Ability to travel up to 5% (occasional overnight stays).

Preferred
- Prior internship experience in the building design or engineering consulting industry.
- Engineering-in-Training (EIT) certification preferred.
Compensation & Schedule
- State of Illinois Salary Range: $78,000–$82,000 per year.
- Employment type: Full-time (hybrid work schedule).
- Travel: Up to 5%.
- Individual pay will be determined based on experience, education, skills, and licensure.
Physical Requirements
- Regularly required to sit, walk, stand, talk, see, hear, and lift up to 25 pounds.
- Occasionally required to drive, kneel, stoop, crouch, crawl, reach, grasp, or pull.
- May have limited exposure to outdoor weather conditions and loud noises.
