Role Overview
Our confidential client is seeking an Entry‑Level Electrical Engineer for a contract‑to‑hire opportunity based in South Bend, IN. This hands‑on role supports the design, development, and implementation of custom electrical and control-system solutions for industrial and commercial customers. Candidates with a strong electrical engineering foundation, AutoCAD experience, and a willingness to learn across multi‑discipline projects are encouraged to apply.
What You’ll Do
- Develop electrical designs, schematics, wiring diagrams, and technical documentation for customer projects
- Create and revise engineering drawings using AutoCAD and other CAD tools
- Support integration of electrical and control systems into customer‑specific solutions
- Collaborate with engineering, project management, manufacturing, and operations teams to meet project objectives and schedules
- Apply industry standards, engineering principles, and applicable electrical codes to design work
- Participate in design reviews, produce revision updates, and assist with design validation
- Troubleshoot and help resolve technical challenges during project execution
- Support continuous improvement initiatives for engineering processes and product designs
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering (required)
- Entry‑level / early‑career candidates welcome
- AutoCAD experience (2D electrical drafting preferred)
- GPA of 3.0+ preferred
- Demonstrated ability to read and create electrical schematics and wiring diagrams
- Strong problem solving, communication, and teamwork skills
- Willingness to work onsite in South Bend, IN (this role is fully onsite)
Preferred / Nice‑to‑Have
- Internship or co‑op experience focused on electrical design or engineering
- Familiarity with 3D CAD platforms (Inventor, SolidWorks, etc.)
- Exposure to electrical control systems or PLC integration
- Basic understanding of relevant industry codes and standards
Pay & Benefits
- Hourly pay range: $33.65 - $37.50 / hour (Contract to Hire)
