What You’ll Do

Confidential Client is hiring an Electrical Engineer specializing in digital signal processing (DSP) to support on-site work in Warrenton, VA. You will develop, test, and integrate DSP algorithms into embedded and real-time systems on the D‑ETI platform. This role is available at entry/Level I and Level II depending on experience.

  • Translate mathematical signal processing models into maintainable C/C++ code for embedded processors and real-time environments
  • Model and simulate signal chains using Python or MATLAB; generate test vectors and performance metrics
  • Perform hardware/software integration and lab bring-up using oscilloscopes, spectrum analyzers, and logic analyzers
  • Debug DSP processing chains and work through software and hardware root-cause analysis
  • Produce clear documentation: algorithm designs, API specs, verification procedures, and test reports
  • Collaborate in code reviews and agile/scrum meetings; take ownership of smaller DSP modules and contribute to architecture improvements

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a closely related technical field
  • Strong foundation in digital signal processing fundamentals (sampling theory, DFT/FFT, digital filters, linear systems)
  • Proficiency in C/C++ for embedded or real-time systems
  • Experience scripting/modeling in Python or MATLAB for simulation and test
  • Practical familiarity with software debuggers and lab equipment (oscilloscopes, spectrum analyzers, logic analyzers)
  • Strong analytical skills and attention to technical detail
  • 0–5 years relevant industry experience developing and testing DSP algorithms or real-time embedded software
  • Active U.S. Secret security clearance required

Nice to Have (Preferred)

  • Master’s degree in Electrical or Computer Engineering with a signal processing or communications focus
  • Experience with automated test frameworks, CI/CD for embedded/software testing
  • Prior work on mission-focused or defense-related DSP systems

Location, Compensation & Clearance

  • Work location: On-site in Warrenton, VA (Vint Hill/Warrenton area). Candidate must be able to commute to the site for onboarding and regular on-site work.
  • Clearance: Active U.S. Secret security clearance required.
  • Pay: $70,000 - $110,000 per year (range reflects level and candidate qualifications). Compensation will be determined based on skills, education, and experience.
