What You’ll Do

Confidential Client is seeking an Electrical Engineer to support Weather Systems work for FAA-related radar systems (NEXRAD) based in Oklahoma City, OK. This role contributes to design, integration, sustainment, and modernization efforts across hardware and software components.

• Coordinate and manage engineering changes from planning through delivery
• Research, maintain and troubleshoot weather-system hardware and software
• Author, review, and finalize technical reports, drawings and documentation
• Develop plans and test techniques for real-time engineering problems and product integration
• Support modernization/enhancement efforts and evaluate end-of-life hardware replacements
• Document and respond to trouble calls from field users
• Provide software development and configuration support using C, C++, and Python
• Support lab activities including maintenance and development of lab hardware
• Work across multidisciplinary areas: power systems, communications, RF, analog and digital systems
• Use simulation and analysis tools (MATLAB, Simulink) and common serial protocols (e.g., RS232)

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Electrical Science, or related field
• U.S. Citizenship or Permanent Resident status required; applicants must have resided in the U.S. for the past 3 years
• Ability to pass an FAA background investigation as required by assignment
• Local to the Oklahoma City, OK area and able to interface with hardware on-site as required
• Proficient with MATLAB and Simulink for simulation/analysis
• Strong programming skills in C, C++, and Python
• Knowledge of PCB design techniques and ability to troubleshoot circuit boards
• Familiarity with hardware system design, schematics, and interconnects
• Working knowledge of UNIX or UNIX-like OS (AIX, Linux)
• Demonstrated initiative, strong written and oral communication, and ability to work in a team
• Willing to travel up to 15%

Experience Levels / Career Progression

• Level 1 — Entry level
• Level 2 — Minimum ~3 years of relevant experience
• Level 3 — Minimum ~3 years beyond Level 2
• Level 4 — Senior level; minimum ~3 years beyond Level 3

(Placement will be based on experience and demonstrated technical responsibility.)

Preferred / Nice-to-Have

• Prior experience supporting FAA or other government-operated radar/weather systems (e.g., NEXRAD)
• Hands-on experience with RF, analog/digital hardware and lab test setups
• Experience authoring technical documentation and field deployment packages

Work Location & Travel

• On-site presence at customer facilities will be required as mandated by the FAA.
• Must be local to the Oklahoma City, OK area.
• Up to ~15% travel expected.

Compensation

• Estimated salary shown on source posting: $115,105 per year (estimated). Actual compensation will depend on level, experience, and local market.
