What You’ll Do

This is an onsite, hands-on contract role supporting validation, troubleshooting, and incremental improvement of digital circuit boards used in robotic systems. You will execute established design verification test (DVT) plans, diagnose board-level failures in the lab, and support a limited number of PCB revisions.

• Execute existing DVT test plans on digital circuit boards: setup, data collection, documentation, and identification of deviations.
• Troubleshoot board-level hardware using oscilloscopes, digital multimeters, bench power supplies, and other standard lab equipment.
• Reproduce failures, inspect signals and power rails, document observations, and collaborate with senior engineers to determine root cause and corrective actions.
• Support PCB re-spins by implementing or reviewing modest schematic changes and coordinating layout updates.
• Update and review schematics and coordinate PCB layout changes (Cadence Allegro experience helpful).
• Test and debug interfaces such as USB, JTAG, MIPI, I2C, and SPI.
• Maintain clear engineering documentation: test reports, lab notes, schematic revisions, issue records, and change logs.
• Participate in Agile planning and tracking; communicate progress, risks, and blockers promptly.
• Coordinate with electrical, firmware, software, manufacturing, and external test partners to keep validation and board-update work moving.

What We’re Looking For

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or a closely related discipline, or equivalent practical experience.
• ~2–3 years of hands-on electrical engineering experience with board-level electronics. Entry-level candidates with relevant co-op or internship experience may be considered.
• Comfortable working daily in an electronics lab and using oscilloscopes, DMMs, bench supplies, and related tools.
• Ability to read digital and power schematics, follow test procedures, troubleshoot methodically, and make small schematic edits under guidance.
• Strong data-capture skills and habit of producing organized, traceable engineering documentation.
• Self-starter with strong learning agility, attention to detail, and ability to own tasks through completion.
• Clear written and verbal communication and ability to work within a collaborative engineering team.
• Ability and willingness to work fully onsite every workday for the duration of the assignment.

Preferred / Nice-to-Have

• Experience with schematic-capture tools.
• Exposure to Cadence Allegro and experience reviewing or coordinating PCB layout.
• Familiarity with interfaces such as USB, JTAG, MIPI, I2C, or SPI.
• Experience with camera, imaging, or robotic systems.
• Experience interacting with PCB manufacturers, component suppliers, or contract manufacturers.
• Basic exposure to regulatory testing or supporting external compliance labs.

Compensation & Benefits

• Pay range: $50.00 - $58.00 per hour (Contract).

Work Environment & Schedule

• This position is fully onsite in North Reading, MA and requires daily presence in the lab.
• Typical lab environment: bench work, ESD-safe procedures, hands-on debugging of PCBs.
• Contract length and eligibility for benefits depend on classification and assignment duration.
