Electrical Engineer
The Electrical Engineer will support the design, integration, and programming of electrical control systems for liquid cooling equipment used in data centers. This role involves creating electrical schematics, managing BOMs, supporting prototype builds, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to ensure successful new product development. The position is onsite in Minneapolis and focuses on delivering well-documented, reliable electrical hardware solutions for advanced cooling systems.

What You’ll Do
The Electrical Engineer will support electrical hardware design, integration, and control-system programming for liquid-cooling and related equipment used in data-center applications. You will work closely with engineering teams to execute well-defined tasks across controls hardware, controllers, displays, software, testing, and documentation.
- Support electrical design for power distribution, control panels, instrumentation/sensors, and VFD/pump interfaces within shippable product units.
- Create and update electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, panel layouts/GA drawings, and cable schedules using AutoCAD or similar 2D CAD tools.
- Build and maintain bills of materials (BOMs), including part documentation, alternates, and revision updates.
- Support prototype and pilot builds: verify wiring, troubleshoot issues, and document corrections.
- Contribute to test documentation (FAT/SAT checklists, test procedures) and inputs to O&M manuals.
- Collaborate cross-functionally with mechanical, thermal, and controls teams and maintain clear engineering documentation.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or a closely related field.
- Approximately 2 years of relevant experience (including internships, co-ops, or project work).
- Experience with 2D CAD — preference for AutoCAD.
- Basic understanding of electrical wiring practices, instrumentation signals, and safe work practices.
- Experience creating and maintaining BOMs and strong written communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with control panels, instrumentation/sensors, VFDs, or pump systems.
- Exposure to liquid-cooling systems or data-center equipment.
- Hands-on prototyping or lab test experience.
Work Environment & Additional Info
- This is a fully onsite position in Minneapolis, MN. Regular in-person presence at the client’s facility is required.
- Casual dress code; supportive culture with perks such as a game room (golf simulator, foosball, darts), snacks, and an espresso machine.
- The client is expanding and plans additional facilities in the region.
Compensation & Benefits
- Pay range: $80,000 - $110,000 per year. Individual pay is based on qualifications, experience, location, and other job-related factors.
