Role Overview
Confidential Client is hiring an entry-level Electrical Engineer I to join a FAST Labs research & development team based in Merrimack, NH. This hybrid, full-time role focuses on electrical design and lab-based verification of advanced electronics for defense and aerospace applications. Primary responsibilities include printed board assembly design, electronic circuit development, lab testing/troubleshooting, and producing design documentation and test procedures.
What You’ll Do
- Assist in translating system requirements into compliant, complex printed board assembly (PBA) designs
- Perform electronic circuit design and collaborate with cross-functional teams (scientists, systems/software/hardware engineers, and program management)
- Conduct technical trade studies and evaluate technology insertion or upgrades
- Execute laboratory test, integration, and troubleshooting of prototype hardware and modules
- Use simulation tools to evaluate hardware performance and develop verification test procedures
- Produce technical reports, presentations, and verification artifacts; estimate work and support integration activities
- Work effectively in small teams and use laboratory equipment and standard test techniques
- Travel approximately 25% as required to support program needs
Qualifications
Required
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or Computer Science
- Active Top Secret clearance and ability to obtain SCI access
- Strong hands-on lab skills and familiarity with test equipment
- Ability to read schematics and document design work clearly
Preferred
- Active Top Secret / SCI (TS/SCI) clearance
- Experience with Visio, Excel, or similar tools
- Familiarity with C/C++, LabVIEW, TestStand, or similar test/software tools
- Experience with material ordering, iPortal/query tools, and working in R&D teams
- Demonstrated teamwork, resourcefulness, and effective communication
Work Location & Travel
- Work format: Hybrid (combination of onsite and remote work)
- Primary location: Merrimack, NH (on-site presence expected per team needs)
- Travel: ~25% travel required
Compensation & Benefits
- Full-time salary range: $64,926 – $110,374 per year
