Role Overview

Confidential Client is hiring an entry-level Electrical Engineer I to join a FAST Labs research & development team based in Merrimack, NH. This hybrid, full-time role focuses on electrical design and lab-based verification of advanced electronics for defense and aerospace applications. Primary responsibilities include printed board assembly design, electronic circuit development, lab testing/troubleshooting, and producing design documentation and test procedures.


What You’ll Do

  • Assist in translating system requirements into compliant, complex printed board assembly (PBA) designs
  • Perform electronic circuit design and collaborate with cross-functional teams (scientists, systems/software/hardware engineers, and program management)
  • Conduct technical trade studies and evaluate technology insertion or upgrades
  • Execute laboratory test, integration, and troubleshooting of prototype hardware and modules
  • Use simulation tools to evaluate hardware performance and develop verification test procedures
  • Produce technical reports, presentations, and verification artifacts; estimate work and support integration activities
  • Work effectively in small teams and use laboratory equipment and standard test techniques
  • Travel approximately 25% as required to support program needs

Qualifications

Required

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or Computer Science
  • Active Top Secret clearance and ability to obtain SCI access
  • Strong hands-on lab skills and familiarity with test equipment
  • Ability to read schematics and document design work clearly

Preferred

  • Active Top Secret / SCI (TS/SCI) clearance
  • Experience with Visio, Excel, or similar tools
  • Familiarity with C/C++, LabVIEW, TestStand, or similar test/software tools
  • Experience with material ordering, iPortal/query tools, and working in R&D teams
  • Demonstrated teamwork, resourcefulness, and effective communication

Work Location & Travel

  • Work format: Hybrid (combination of onsite and remote work)
  • Primary location: Merrimack, NH (on-site presence expected per team needs)
  • Travel: ~25% travel required

Compensation & Benefits

  • Full-time salary range: $64,926 – $110,374 per year
  • Benefits (typical for eligible full-time employees): health, dental, vision, HSA, 401(k), disability and life insurance, paid time off, paid holidays, tuition reimbursement for advanced degrees, employee assistance programs, and other voluntary benefits.
  • Salary range reflects market structures; individual pay is determined by factors including qualifications, experience, and local market conditions.
