What You’ll Do

This role sits on the RMA/quality team supporting electronic assembly (SMT) and production. You will investigate returned or suspect components, lead root-cause analysis, and drive corrective actions to reduce defect costs and improve processes.

  • Work cross-functionally with Production, suppliers, and offshore teams to resolve process and component quality issues.
  • Perform failure analysis on returned parts; disassemble components and use lab tools (oscilloscope, circuit testing) to determine failure mode.
  • Apply structured problem-solving (8D, 5 Whys) to identify root causes and document corrective/preventive actions.
  • Support PPAPs, PFMEA, Control Plans, containment actions, and supplier corrective action requests.
  • Produce detailed analysis reports, update work instructions, and provide technical guidance to manufacturing teams.
  • Track defect trends and recommend cost-reduction and process-improvement opportunities.

What We’re Looking For

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent.
  • Hands-on experience with oscilloscopes and circuit testing.
  • Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics and mechanical drawings.
  • Strong troubleshooting skills with experience in root cause analysis and corrective actions.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication and customer-service orientation.
  • Familiarity with quality processes and tools (PPAP, PFMEA, Control Plan, 8D).

Preferred / Nice to Have

  • Experience in automotive quality or working with OEMs (Honda, Nissan, etc.).
  • Prior RMA or returns-analysis experience in electronics or manufacturing.
  • Knowledge of SMT processes and electronic assembly troubleshooting.

Compensation & Benefits

  • Rate: $31.25 - $34.00 per hour (Contract to Hire). Individual pay will depend on experience and qualifications.
