About the Role
Confidential Client is hiring an entry-level electrical engineer to support Command & Data Handling (C&DH) and Guidance, Navigation & Control (GNC) hardware efforts. This role offers hands-on design, test, and troubleshooting experience on complex electrical systems under mentorship from experienced engineers. Work will include circuit-level design, component evaluation, simulations, test execution, and documentation to support mission-critical hardware development.
What You’ll Do
- Assist with electrical design and development of C&DH and GNC hardware components and subsystems
- Build and modify schematics, PCB layouts, and wiring harness concepts under guidance
- Run simulations and bench tests (SPICE, MATLAB/Simulink or similar) to validate designs
- Perform circuit analysis, debug hardware using oscilloscopes, multimeters and logic analyzers
- Support embedded hardware tasks involving microcontrollers, FPGAs, or other controllers
- Create and maintain engineering documentation: design notes, test plans, and test reports
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams (mechanical, systems, test engineering) to meet requirements
- Contribute to design reviews and support continuous improvement of processes and designs
About You (Qualifications)
Minimum qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering or related field — or equivalent experience
- Entry-level: typically 0–2 years of relevant experience
- Basic understanding of electrical circuits, components, and test equipment
- Familiarity with electrical design tools and the ability to learn CAD/layout tools
- Strong willingness to learn, accept mentorship, and follow engineering processes
Preferred qualifications:
- Internship or co-op experience in electrical or hardware engineering
- Exposure to electrical design tools (Altium Designer, AutoCAD Electrical, Capital, or similar)
- Experience with simulation tools (SPICE, MATLAB/Simulink)
- Knowledge of power electronics, control systems, or embedded systems
- Familiarity with programming for embedded systems (C/C++, Python)
- Experience with Guidance, Navigation & Control (GNC) hardware or systems is a plus
- Hands-on troubleshooting experience with oscilloscopes, multimeters, and logic analyzers
Compensation & Employment Type
- Pay range: $77,403.00 - $106,450.50 per year (actual pay determined by experience, skills, and internal equity)
- Employment type: Full time (Contract)
