Position overview
Confidential Client is seeking an entry-level Electrical Engineer (Electrical Engineer I) to contribute to the design of electrical systems for commercial and life‑sciences / food & beverage facilities. This is a full-time, entry-level engineering role focused on power, lighting, grounding/bonding, special systems (data, security, fire alarm), raceway/cable tray layout, calculations and construction documentation. Work will be supervised by more experienced engineers and include BIM/CAD tasks, engineering calculations, coordination with other disciplines and occasional field verification.
What You’ll Do
- Work under the direction of a licensed or senior engineer to execute electrical design tasks.
- Perform illumination, power load, short‑circuit, voltage‑drop, conduit and wire-sizing calculations.
- Produce one-line diagrams, plan drawings, schedules, installation details, and basis‑of‑design documentation.
- Model and document electrical systems using BIM (Revit) and CAD (AutoCAD).
- Coordinate electrical work with architects, mechanical/plumbing engineers and construction partners to ensure constructible designs.
- Conduct basic field investigations and surveys to document existing conditions.
- Support construction administration activities as needed.
- Maintain professional development and follow applicable electrical and building codes.
Qualifications
- ABET‑accredited Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Architectural Engineering, or Engineering Technology.
- 0–3 years of relevant experience; experience in a design firm preferred.
- Proficiency with Revit and AutoCAD.
- Solid fundamentals in electrical calculations (power, lighting, grounding) — performed under supervision.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in building systems design for life‑sciences, pharmaceutical, or food & beverage facilities.
- Fundamentals of Engineering (FE) exam registration or completion.
- Experience performing field surveys and preparing field reports.
- Ability to interface with clients and external partners.
- Willingness to travel as required for project work and client meetings.
Compensation & Benefits
- Base salary: USD 72,980 — USD 87,576 per year (as provided by the client).
