What You’ll Do
This entry-level Electrical Engineer will support production design, product development, and process improvements for specialty emergency response vehicles. Working under the guidance of senior engineers, you'll contribute to design releases, validation, and documentation to help bring reliable vehicles to market.
- Participate in design, development, or re-design of production items of easy to moderate complexity through release, build, and validation
- Follow established engineering and manufacturing processes to meet project goals
- Apply analysis to production and test data to support engineering decisions
- Produce engineering documentation: 2-D schematics, 3-D models/assemblies, Production Assembly Drawings (PADs), part requirement drawings
- Create and maintain accurate engineering bills of materials (BOMs)
- Use CAD and computer-aided design tools to generate and revise drawings and models
- Support senior engineers on new product development and field issue resolution
- Assist and assign work for CAD draftspersons, designers, technicians, or engineers as directed
- Support robustness engineering and continuous improvement activities
- Other duties as assigned to support product and process objectives
Who We’re Looking For
Candidates should be early-career engineers with a mix of analytical and hands-on skills, strong attention to detail, and the ability to follow established processes while learning industry-specific practices.
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or Technology required
- 0–2 years’ experience in engineering or a related technical field
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Good organizational, problem-solving, and analytical abilities
- Self-motivated, able to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines
- Intermediate-level proficiency with Microsoft Office
- CAD experience with emphasis on 2D and 3D (SolidWorks preferred)
- Basic electrical troubleshooting and hands-on skills
- Commitment to high quality and continuous improvement
- Able to adapt to changing priorities and support cross-functional teams
Preferred / Nice-to-Have
- Basic understanding of automotive branch circuitry design
- Familiarity with CAN protocol (J1939 preferred)
- Basic programming knowledge (scripting or PLC/embedded familiarity is a plus)
- Knowledge of applicable industry standards, codes, and technical publications
Compensation & Location
- Location: Charlotte, MI
- Estimated pay: $93,308 per year (estimated); actual compensation offered by our client may vary based on experience and internal pay practices
- Employment type: Full-time (direct hire by our client)
