What You’ll Do

The Electrical Engineer Associate will support hardware product design and validation under the guidance of senior engineering staff. This entry-level role is ideal for candidates with hands-on electronics experience from internships, senior projects, or cooperative education.

  • Support analog and digital circuit design, schematic capture, and basic circuit analysis.
  • Assist with PCB layout review, prototype bring-up, debugging, and test execution.
  • Help plan and execute verification and qualification tests; document test results and recommendations.
  • Perform laboratory measurements using oscilloscopes, DMMs, power supplies, signal generators, and logic analyzers.
  • Help identify manufacturability or reliability issues early in the design cycle and support root-cause investigations.
  • Prepare and maintain engineering documentation: schematics, BOMs, test instructions, and technical reports.
  • Communicate status, risks, and technical questions to project leads; escalate issues as needed.
  • Collaborate with firmware, software, mechanical, test, manufacturing, compliance, product, and supply-chain teams.

Key Responsibilities

  • Execute assigned engineering tasks with supervision and follow established design practices.
  • Support component selection, alternate-part evaluations, and sustaining engineering activities.
  • Contribute to troubleshooting and failure analysis in both lab and manufacturing environments.
  • Produce clear, accurate technical documentation to support design transfer and manufacturing.
  • Travel occasionally to supplier or manufacturing sites as needed.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Entry-level position — internship, senior-design, co-op, or equivalent hands-on experience preferred.
  • Foundational knowledge of analog and digital electronics and basic circuit analysis.
  • Practical experience assembling, bringing up, or testing electronic circuits and PCBs.
  • Familiarity with common lab equipment and methodical troubleshooting practices.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills; ability to work effectively on cross-functional teams.
  • Ability to manage assigned work, meet deadlines, and communicate progress and potential blockers.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related field.
  • Experience with schematic capture and PCB layout tools, basic simulation, or modeling.
  • Prior exposure to design verification, qualification testing, or manufacturing test development.

Physical Requirements & Travel

  • Sedentary work with regular lab bench activities.
  • Ability to travel to other company, supplier, or manufacturing locations as business needs require.

Location & Work Model

  • This role requires on-site presence in Fort Wayne, IN, following a hybrid work model.

Compensation & Benefits

  • Base salary range: $55,000 to $99,000 per year. Placement within this range will depend on experience and geographic location.
  • Benefits include healthcare, dental, vision, retirement savings (401k), and other role-specific programs. Final benefits are provided by the hiring organization.
